Science-backed strength programs for mountain bikers who want to climb harder, descend faster, and stay injury-free.

I'm a strength and conditioning coach with a simple goal: to make you a stronger, faster and more durable rider. Over the last 9+ years I've coached everyone from professional rugby squads to youth academies — and along the way mountain biking became the sport I love most to train for.
My approach is straightforward. Every exercise has a clear purpose, the training fits around your riding, and you'll always understand the "why" behind what you're doing. No fluff, no guesswork — just a plan that gets you results on the trail.
Qualifications

Prioritizing long-term development and "Human First" foundations, progressing into short-term performance spikes.
Building a broad, resilient physical base before introducing high-intensity or sport-specific specialization.
Teaching athletes the "why" so they can focus on consistency, resilience, autonomy and communication.
Blending science with intuition to create a fun, purposeful space where simplicity drives consistent results.
Why MTB athletes need strength training.
Absorb impacts from jumps, drops, corners and rough terrain. Build eccentric strength to handle whatever the trail throws at you.
Strengthen joints, tendons and stabiliser muscles to reduce crash severity and overuse injuries from long rides.
Generate more force through the pedals with stronger legs and core. Attack climbs instead of surviving them.
Maintain body position and bike control deep into long rides and race runs when others fade.
Control the bike through technical sections with a stable platform. Better cornering, pumping and manuals.
Bounce back quicker between rides and race days. Train more consistently through the season.
Two ways to train. Compare them side by side, then dive into the one that fits your riding.

Long days demand full-body endurance. Build the strength to stay sharp from Stage 1 to the final push.
Explosive power and reactive strength for high-speed impacts. Train to absorb G-forces and stay in control.
Maximise power-to-weight and sustain high output over hours of racing. Climb faster, recover quicker.
Explosive gate starts and aerial control. Build fast-twitch power and bulletproof joints for high-impact riding.
Core stability for aero positions, leg strength for breakaways. Train the engine and the chassis.
Multi-sport demands multi-system strength. Build durability across swim, bike and run without bulk.
